Mustapha Amego is dead, to be buried in the US

Mustapha
Amego has passed away, his wife Marie has
confirmed to NET.
The
former PMAN president is said to have passed away in the wee hours of
Thursday, October 24, 2014 (6PM New York time) at his home, days after being discharged from the Maryland Medical Center, in
Maryland, US where he was undergoing treatment for Colon Cancer.
‘Yes he has passed away. I’ve
reached the family, they are aware right now‘, Marie who sounded
extremely sad told Senior Correspondent Victor Enengedi over the telephone.
Two
days earlier, Marie had disclosed to NET that ‘the hospital advised that there was nothing
more that they could do and that it would be better he spends the rest of the
little time he has left with family’.
The
couple have a daughter together named Fatemma.
According
to Amego’s friend, US-based Nigerian journalist and writer, Azuka
Jebose Molokwu who spoke with him a few hours before he gave up the
ghost, the Funky Mallam ‘expressed appreciations for the support, empathy that
blanketed his life since his family went public with his health challenges’.
Reports
also say the family has released burial plans and according to Muslim
rites, he will be buried today, 2PM at the Prince George’s Muslim Association
Hall situated as 9150 Lanham Severn Road, Lanham, MD 20706.
